- Repeated breaches lead to the phone being held and returned to parents.
Restorative Discipline
Discipline at Permata Ibu aims to build character and self-control, not simply to punish. Steps are graded according to the seriousness of the matter:
- A verbal reminder and reflection with the teacher or homeroom teacher.
- First Warning Letter and a meeting with parents and the school counsellor.
- Second Warning Letter and a short suspension with set work at home.
- Third Warning Letter, a behaviour agreement and mentoring.
- For very serious breaches, the school assists with a transfer to another school so the child’s right to education is protected.
Student rights: to be heard, to be accompanied by parents, to privacy, to appeal, and to continue receiving lessons and counselling.
The school never uses physical punishment, shames students in public, or withholds report cards or certificates.
Every Child Safe, Every Day
Permata Ibu does not tolerate physical, emotional or sexual abuse, bullying, discrimination or intolerance. The best interests of the child guide every decision, in line with Indonesia’s Child Protection Law and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The school has a Violence Prevention and Response Team (TPPK). Parents and students may raise concerns with the homeroom teacher, school counsellor or Principal. Reports are handled promptly and in confidence.
