Adventist Education Worldwide
Permata Ibu is part of one of the largest Christian school systems in the world.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church runs a worldwide education system, from kindergarten to university. Since the first Adventist school opened in the nineteenth century, the system has kept growing and now serves students in more than 100 countries. Permata Ibu Adventist Academy (kindergarten, primary and junior high) in Denpasar is one of its schools.

Why Adventist Education Exists
Adventist education prepares students for a happy and useful life: friendship with God, growth of the whole person, Bible-based values, and selfless service in line with the Adventist Church's mission to the world.
Centred on Christ
The Adventist philosophy of education is centred on Christ. Education is seen as a way to restore people's relationship with God and to restore His image in every student.
Adventist education is more than academic knowledge. It develops the whole person: spiritual, intellectual, physical and social. It aims to build Christlike character, to educate thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others' thoughts, to encourage loving service rather than selfish ambition, and to help every student reach their full potential.
Home, Church and School Working Together
Home
The family is the most basic place of learning. Parents are a child's first and most influential teachers.
Church
The congregation, as a community of faith, offers a welcoming and loving setting where students grow in faith in Jesus Christ.
School
The school builds on the foundation laid at home and in church. Christian teachers serve as God's ministers in the plan of redemption.
What Makes an Adventist School
- Students: as children of God, they are the focus of all education and are loved and accepted.
- Teachers: model Christ's grace and are professionally competent.
- Knowledge: includes cognitive, experiential, emotional, relational and spiritual dimensions that lead to wisdom.
- Curriculum: pursues academic excellence and balanced growth: spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, emotional and practical.
- Teaching: integrates faith and learning, suited to each student's needs and abilities.
- Discipline: aims at self-control, not mere punishment.
- School life: a blend of worship, study, work, recreation and friendship.
- Assessment: redemptive, always aiming at God's highest ideal.
What We Hope for Our Graduates
- The opportunity to commit their lives to God and a desire to do His will in every area of life.
- Skills in thinking, communication and numeracy as a foundation for further study.
- Healthy social and emotional skills in their relationships with friends, family and community.
